Whether you’re a shower-singer extraordinaire or a seasoned stage performer, there’s one day of the year that belongs entirely to you. While we just passed the official date, the spirit of music is always in the air here at The Eastwood Lafayette III.

Did you know that July 19 is International Karaoke Day? It is a global celebration of the "empty orchestra"—the literal translation of the Japanese word karaoke—and was established in 2015 by a group of enthusiasts to honor 1971, the year the first karaoke machine was invented.

At TEL3, we believe that music is the heartbeat of our community. That’s why we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new project: karaoke.myTEL3home.org.

This new subdomain is dedicated to being your go-to hub for all things karaoke. Whether you are looking for song recommendations, tips on vocal warm-ups, or links to the best digital resources to refine your performance, this site is designed to keep our community connected through song.

The "Sing and Gogh" Spirit

For us at TEL3, karaoke isn't just about singing—it's about connection. Over the past few years, we’ve developed a unique community tradition inspired by the "Sip and Gogh" concept, where we combine creative "Paint-by-the-Numbers" activities with the unlimited joy of karaoke.

From our very first party in 2023 that kicked off our "BER Festivities" to our recent Pre-Father’s Day event in 2025, these evenings have become a staple for our residents. It’s a space where neighbors—from our "young once" seniors to our energetic Gen Zs—come together to relax, share coffee, and express their inner artist and inner rockstar.
